Umhlonyane Tea is made from the dried herb Artemisia afra, also known as Lengana, Wild Wormwood, Als or Wilde Als and has been traditionally used in African medicine for many centuries. Umhlonyane Tea may be beneficial when taken internally to assist in the treatment of coughs, influenza, pain, fever, gastro-intestinal disorders and worms. Externally it can be used as an inhalation to help relieve headaches, sinusitis and nasal congestion. It may also be applied directly onto the skin to help reduce inflammation and can be used as an infusion to help relieve menstrual pain and discomfort.
This product may enhance the effects of alcohol. Limit alcohol intake while using this product.
To assist in the treatment of coughs, influenza, pain, fever, gastro-intestinal disorders and worms. Adults and children over 12 years: Mix 1 – 2 tablespoons in 1 litre of boiling water and allow to infuse for 8 – 10 minutes. Drink one cup 2 – 3 times per day.
To assist in the treatment of headaches, sinusitis and nasal congestion, infuse 1 – 2 tablespoons in 3 litres of boiling water, then use as an inhalation by bowing the head over a bowl of the infusion and gently breathing in the vapour.
